So I saw The Fighter this weekend. Apart from the fact I already have a HUGE crush on Christian Bale and the fact that I’m a sucker for movies that are “based on a true story”, I have to say this movie was FANTASTIC. I will be giving it 5 stars on my Netflix ratings. The biggest detraction from the movie is Mark Wahlberg, but you kind of forget about that thanks to all of the amazing acting by the supporting cast. And I do give Wahlberg a lot of credit for seeing this project through to the end. I know he had to battle to make it happen. Bale definitely deserved his Golden Globe win and I have no doubt that he will be nominated come tomorrow for Best Supporting Actor at the Oscars (and I predict a win there as well).
I could do an entire post on Bale, but I’ll save that for another day. In the mean time, I highly recommend you see The Fighter.
